TEL-AVIV, February 26 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian Gazprom company will take part in liquefying and exporting gas developed on the Israeli shelf, Gazprom partners who are developing the Tamar gas deposit off the Israeli Mediterranean coast declared on Tuesday.
A protocol of intent was signed by representatives of the Tamar Consortium, the South Korean company Levant LNG Marketing Corporation, two Norwegian partners and representatives of the Swiss office of Gazprom, the Globes daily said.
The Russian Gazprom is expected to render financial support to the Levant company in the construction of a floating facility for liquefying natural gas. The exports of the liquefied gas have been planned at three million tons annually.
