MOSCOW, February 25 (Itar-Tass) – Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the federal law to extend free public housing privatization for all categories of people for next two years until March 1, 2015.
The president signed the federal law introducing the amendments in Article 2 of the federal law on putting into effect the Russian Housing Code, the Kremlin press service reported. The law was approved by the State Duma on February 19, 2013, and was approved by the Federation Council on February 20, 2013.
“To introduce in the first clause of the Article 2 Part 2 of the federal law of December 29, 2004 № 189-FZ to put into effect the Russian Housing Code the amendment, replacing the words “the year 2013” with the words “the year 2015,” the press service reported.
The law enters into force from the day of its official publication. Under the law all Russian citizens will be able to privatize their housing freely before March 1, 2015.
Meanwhile, in the future the government proposes to provide an opportunity to people entitled to getting housing to privatize their flats in any case freely in the course of the year since the moment of buying the flat. Underage orphans and the children, who were left without parental care, will have the right without any deadlines on the terms to decide within 12 months from the moment of purchasing housing whether or not they will privatize this housing.
