Russia calls to speed up efforts to abolish visa regime with European Union

The Russian side drew attention of the partners to the priority importance of this issue

MOSCOW, February 12 (Itar-Tass) – Russia thinks it utterly important to solve the issue of visa-free regime for short travels between Russia and the European Union, Russian ambassador at large in charge of visa dialogue between Russia and the European Union Anvar Azimov said on Tuesday after a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions of European Union countries and the EU office in Moscow.

“The Russian side drew attention of the partners to the priority importance of this issue and the necessity to speed up efforts to implement the list of joint steps aimed at creating favorable conditions for introducing visa-free regime,” the Russian foreign ministry said in a release. “The Russian side also stressed Russia’s commitment to waste no time to do what it must to implement the list of joint steps and begin talks on a relevant agreement between Russian and the European Union on the abolishment f entry visas.”
