CHERKESSK, February 8 (Itar-Tass) – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday it was necessary to create favorable conditions for investors in the North Caucasian Federal District.
“You and I understand that government investments will not be enough to revive the economy of the district or territory’,” Medvedev told a meeting of the governmental commission for the socio-economic development of the North Caucasian Federal District on Friday.
“You should create favorable conditions for investors; it’s important for them to know about the development of Northern Caucasus, about new business opportunities and unique natural and geographical peculiarities of the region,” Medvedev said.
Besides, Medvedev added that investors should be informed about support which they could get both from the federal and regional authorities.
“The region is developing in several directions. A tourist cluster is being formed. The creation of the North Caucasian Federal University and other initiatives are very important for the district,” Medvedev emphasized.
Medvedev also called on regional authorities to exercise control over grain and bread prices. I The prime minister expressed the hope that this year would be more successful (than the previous one) for the North Caucasian Federal District, the republics that are part of it and the whole country.
