ST PETERSBURG, February 6 (Itar-Tass) - Criminal proceedings have been opened over excessive cost of the project to build the Zenit-Arena stadium in St Petersburg, city prosecutor Sergei Litvinenko told local legislators on Wednesday.
"The criminal case was opened some ten days ago," he said without specifying the sum of excessive spending or the criminal code article under which proceedings had been initiated.
The case is being handled by the Investigative Committee's department for St Petersburg.
