Kazakhstan’s uranium output reach 20,900 tons in 2012

According to the company, Kazakhstan accounted for 37 percent of the global uranium output of 55,000 tons in 2012

ASTANA, January 24 (Itar-Tass) – Kazakhstan’s uranium production reached 20,900 tons in 2012, or up by 7.5 percent on 2011, the press service of Kazatomprom reported on Thursday.

According to the company, Kazakhstan accounted for 37 percent of the global uranium output of 55,000 tons in 2012.

In 2011, its uranium production was 19,400 tons, or 35 percent of the global output.
