MOSCOW, January 22 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who leaves late on Tuesday for Davos, will present to the World Economic Forum his vision of Russia’s priorities in G20, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told a briefing.

He reminded the audience that Russia assumed the rotating presidency of G20 last year. “Medvedev was one of the originators of G20, he has a big experience of work in that format,” he said in reply to the query why Medvedev and not President Putin goes to Davos this year.

“Colleagues form Dagos have been asking us for a long time to present our vision,” he added. Besides, “among other factors the schedule of top officials’ trips is determined proceeding from the events taking place at this or that period of time,” he said. “It happens so that at the moment it is more convenient for the prime minister to go to Davos,” he added. “The president and the prime minister compared their schedules, discussed this and decided this way,” Dvorkovich said.

The deputy prime minister does not expect this time to hear the question “who is Mr. Medvedev” the way the question about Vladimir Putin was asked in Davos back in 2000. “Everybody knows very well now who Mr. Medvedev is,” he said.
