KIEV, January 4 (Itar-Tass) — Meeting of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is due to be held at the Yuri Fedkovich National University in the southwestern city of Chernovtsi /Cernauti/ January 14 on the sidelines of a session of a subcommittee of the Russian-Ukrainian Inter-State Commission, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said Friday.
“As part of the session the sides plan reviewing the results of the subcommittee’s activity, including the work of the sub-commissions supervising responses to new challenges and threats, border and consular cooperation, regional conflict settlement in the context of Ukraine’s chairmanship at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe /OSCE/, and collaboration in the international arena,” the ministry’s press service said.
“A very close attention will be given to the economic component of Ukrainian-Russian partnership, including Ukraine’s cooperation with the CIS Customs Union /comprising Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan – Itar-Tass/,” the report said.
A final protocol of the subcommittee’s session and a plan of action between the two Foreign Ministries in 2013 will be signed upon the end of the meeting in Chernovtsi.
The press service also said that Sergei Lavrov and Leonid Kozhara are expected to meet with the lecturing staff and students of the Chernovtsi National University.
