Fuji to recall over 600,000 Subaru cars from US

A mass-scale recall of the transport vehicles has been prompted by a detected door lighting system malfunction which may lead to self-ignition

TOKYO, January 4 (Itar-Tass) — The Japanese Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. Company will recall about 643,000 Subaru cars from the United States, media here reported on Friday.

A mass-scale recall of the transport vehicles has been prompted by a detected door lighting system malfunction which may lead to self-ignition. The measure applies to such Subaru car models as Legacy made in 2010-2011, Forester made in 2009-2012, Outback of 2010-2011 make, and Tribeca produced in the 2006-2012 period.

The company promises to install, free of charge, an additional shielding of electric wiring from short-circuits.
