KAZAN, December 8 (Itar-Tass) —— The Aeroflot airline has become an official air carrier of the 27th World University Games to be held in Kazan in 2013.
Under the partner agreement with the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, Aeroflot will transport athletes, sport judges, organisers and other participants of the summer university games.
Aeroflot has been flying between Moscow and Kazan since 2010, making three trips a day aboard Airbus 320 and Sukhoi SuperJet-100 passenger planes.
Now the airline plans to increase the increase the number of flights to Kazan. Aeroflot advertised the Universiade aboard its planes in in-flight videos even before signing the agreement.
The company is a traditionally supporter of sport events in Russia. It is the general partner of the 22nd Olympic Games and 11th Paralympic Games in Sochi in 2014, and the general sponsor of the CSKA football club.
