Russian economy in Q1 growing quicker than in Q4 2023 — Central Bank experts

It is reported that the increased internal demand level will remain

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. The Russian economy continued growing proactively in the first quarter of this year, Central Bank experts said in the next issue of the trends bulletin.

"In the first quarter of 2024, the Russian economy continued growing, probably even at a greater pace than in the fourth quarter of 2023," they said.

The increased internal demand level will remain, experts said. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly difficult for these factors to support further economic growth, particularly because of budget constraints. Therefore, it is possible that growth rates will decelerate later to more stable levels irrespective of monetary policy pursued, Central Bank experts added.
