Energy Ministry denies reports on planned supplies of Kazakh gasoline to Russia

The ministry noted that Kazakhstan itself receives gasoline from Russia

MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Russia’s Energy Ministry denied information that Moscow allegedly turned to the authorities of Kazakhstan with a request that the republic ship over 100,000 tons of gasoline to Russia.

"The information coming from Reuters sources is untrue and shows complete ignorance of the balance of motor fuels in the EAEU," the ministry told TASS.

The ministry noted that Kazakhstan itself receives gasoline from Russia. For example, in 2024, the republic will be able import up to 285,000 tons even considering the ban on Russian exports. Moreover, Russian gasoline is already being delivered to Kazakhstan.

"In accordance with the forecast indicative balances, supplies of motor gasoline from Kazakhstan to Russia are not envisaged. At the same time, the possibility of supplying motor gasoline from Russia to Kazakhstan, up to 285,000 tons per year, remains in effect even during the period of the ban on the export of this type of motor fuel from Russia, and these deliveries are being carried out," the ministry said.

The ministry’s press service noted that even with the ban on gasoline exports, the country fully complies with the terms of contracts for the supply of motor fuels to friendly countries.

"The available commercial stocks of motor fuel are sufficient to meet the needs of domestic consumers, in particular, taking into account the planned increase in demand in the spring-summer period," the ministry noted.
