Bank of Russia reports $1.43 bln in 2023 year-end profits — annual report

The Bank of Russia posted losses for several years in succession before that

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. Profits of the Bank of Russia amounted to 140.4 bln rubles ($1.43 bln) as of 2023 year-end, the regulator said in its published annual report.

"The positive financial result was formed as of the end of 2023. The main factor of profit generation is the positive revaluation of securities, with negative revaluation attributed to the financial result recognized for them in 2022," the Central Bank said.

The Bank of Russia posted losses for several years in succession before that. The profit earned by the Central Bank will be appropriated under Russian laws and transferred to the federal budget at the rate of 75% of profits actually received as of the year-end, remaining after payments of taxes and charges.
