Russia plans to allocate over $48.8 mln to develop agriculture in Donbass and Novorossia

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin stated that, despite the challenges, these regions' integration into the country's agro-industrial sector is going "very well"

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. More than 4.5 bln rubles ($48.8 mln) will be allocated in 2024 for the development of the agro-industrial complex of Donbass and Novorossia, which is approximately 15% higher than the figure for 2023, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin said in an interview with TASS.

"More than 3.9 bln rubles last year were allocated to support farmers in new regions of our country. This year we have very ambitious plans - more than 4.5 bln rubles will be used to support farmers," Razin said.

He also stated that, despite the challenges, these regions' integration into the country's agro-industrial sector is going "very well." "We have been operating in new regions nearly since the beginning, supporting our manufacturers. Thousands of companies have already gone through the re-registration process. The most important thing is that they began to receive real state help, which was not the case previously," the Deputy Minister said.

"In general, we are working as usual and I must say that, of course, the agricultural sector is a basic industry for the economy of the new regions, and I am confident that it will work effectively," he emphasized.
