Hamburg Prosecutor's Office files charges against five people for turbine supply to Crimea

The representative of the prosecutor's office added that the decision to open the main proceedings has not yet been made

BERLIN, March 27. /TASS/. The Hamburg Prosecutor's Office confirmed that it has brought charges against five people allegedly involved in the supply of turbines manufactured by Siemens to Crimea, the department’s representative told TASS.

"Indeed, as part of this investigation, the Hamburg Prosecutor's Office charged five individuals in the economic crimes in the chamber of the Hamburg district court with commercial violations of the ban on sales, exports, and supplies outlined in the so-called Crimean embargo, as well as complicity in this," she noted.

The representative of the prosecutor's office added that the decision to open the main proceedings has not yet been made. "Therefore, the main dates of the hearings are not yet known," she stated.

The individuals in question "are accused of involvement in the sale of four gas turbines to a Russian state company and their supply to Crimea for various purposes between 2015 and 2017.".
