Sanctions cannot restrain Rosatom on markets

CEO Alexey Likhachev noted that "even unfriendly ones continue in one way or another to implement cooperation" with the Russian state nuclear corporation

Sanctions cannot restrict operations of Rosatom in markets of friendly countries and even unfriendly nations continue cooperation, CEO of the Russian state nuclear corporation Alexey Likhachev said in an interview with RT television at the Atomexpo -2024 forum.

"Sanctions are in place against the Russian Federation; they do not make our life easier. Clearly they complicate in the first instance the settlements portion related to banking services. However, they will definitely not restrain us in operations - in markets of friendly countries in the first instance. Even unfriendly ones continue in one way or another to implement cooperation with us as a minimum and to develop it as a maximum," Likhachev said.

Rosatom will continue performing its obligations towards any country irrespective of sanctions until it will be physically possible, the chief executive added.
