HAIKOU /China/, 19 March. /TASS/. The first demonstration zone of the 5G-A standard for mobile networks has been built at the site of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), which will be held this year in the southern Chinese province of Hainan on March 26-29, the Hainan International Communication Network (HICN) reported.

This is a joint venture between China Mobile and Huawei. With the launch of this network, Hainan Province will officially enter a new era of commercial application of 5G-A generation mobile communications.

This mobile network standard is a transition between 5G and 6G. In essence, it is an improved 5G with higher signal capacity and more advanced connectivity. According to Zhao Feilong, deputy general manager of the planning and construction department of China Mobile's innovation center in Hainan, the network capacity is 10 times higher than 5G. It will enable new business opportunities in high-definition video transmission and online broadcasting.

The BFA has been regularly held since 2001 and has about 30 participating countries (Asia-Pacific states). The Boao Forum for Asia is called the Eastern Davos; it is an important platform for signing important agreements, coordinating positions between representatives of business and government circles of Asian countries and all other regions of the world. Chinese authorities pay great attention to its development and consider this mechanism as an effective instrument of soft diplomacy, which promotes and strengthens Beijing's international contacts.
