Foreign companies start restoring Ukrainian infrastructure

Turkish builders completed seventy projects over two years totaling about $1 bln, Bloomberg reported

NEW YORK, March 10. /TASS/. Companies from Austria, Germany, Denmark and Turkey started working on restoration of the Ukrainian infrastructure, Bloomberg news agency said.

According to the news agency, Turkish companies are restoring bridges and roads and are supplying power generators and mobile medical stations. Turkish builders completed seventy projects over two years totaling about $1 bln, Bloomberg said.

German and Austrian companies are restoring the Ukrainian infrastructure and defense sector plants. Denmark donated $130 bln to restore the shipyard in Nikolayev. Germany’s Rheinmetall AG announced plans to create a plant for production of 155 mm munitions in February. Producer of construction materials Fixit is building a new production facility in West Ukraine since last year. Bayer invested in seeds production.

Hostilities may interfere with implementation of many plans because certain facilities can be exposed to strikes, Bloomberg said. Recruitment of manpower is also challenging.
