Over 100,000 Russians visit Thailand year-to-date

In 2023, Russians were the fifth-largest national group of tourists visiting Thailand

BANGKOK, January 16. /TASS/. More than 100,000 Russians visited Thailand in the first two weeks of this year, which makes Russia one of top three countries in terms of the number of visits to the kingdom among all national groups of tourists, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand reported.

A total of 1.3 mln foreigners visited the country from January 1 to 14, according to the ministry. Most tourists came from China in the reporting period (186,400 people). Malaysia came in second (145,300 people), followed by Russia (102,000 people), South Korea (98,000 people), and India (65,400 people).

In 2023, Russians were the fifth-largest national group of tourists visiting Thailand. Meanwhile the tourist flow from Russia to the kingdom reached the pre-pandemic level.
