Russia’s Vostok Oil project pitch under consideration by China — Novak

Vostok Oil is the flagship project of the Rosneft oil company and comprises 52 license areas in Arctic Russia

BEIJING, December 19. /TASS/. Russia pitched the Vostok Oil project to China as early as in October, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"Vostok Oil was also talked about today, including by myself, from the standpoint that it is a promising project. We presented it - Rosneft and the Russian government - as early as in October at the fifth Russia-China Energy Forum. "Our counterparts are currently considering it," Novak said.

Vostok Oil is the flagship project of the Rosneft oil company and comprises 52 license areas in Arctic Russia with thirteen oil and gas fields therein.
