ST. PETERSBURG, November 1. /TASS/. The intensification of relations between Eurasian countries in the gas industry will have a big influence on how the world consumes gas, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said during the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
"Speaking about this project (the launch of gas supplies through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan via the Central Asia - Center gas pipeline system - TASS), we can say that this particular project is a signal to the global gas market that the intensification of relations in the gas industry between countries of Eurasia is a trend that to a great extent will determine the dynamics of gas consumption growth," he said.
As an example of interaction between Eurasian countries, Miller noted cooperation between Russia and China.
The Gazprom CEO noted that the company plans to continue to increase gas supplies to China. "Gazprom will continue to increase the volume of gas supplies to China along agreed routes," he said.
In 2022, Gazprom’s pipeline supplies accounted for 50% of the increase in Chinese imports, Miller recalled.
