Yandex ID service to start deleting inactive accounts — press service

The measure refers to accounts without any activities for two and a half and more years, the company specified

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. Yandex ID has updated its accounts policy and will start deleting them if they are inactive for 2.5 years, its press service told TASS.

Yandex ID is a single user account on Yandex and the management center of personal data and settings.

"Yandex ID is strengthening protection of profiles from being compromised. The service will start notifying users with inactive accounts about the need to confirm that the account is current and improve security measures since October. This refers to accounts without any activities for two and a half and more years," the press service informed.

After several notifications, the service will start deleting inactive accounts without the recovery option for security reasons, unless any new activity is found, the press service added. "To keep the account, it will be sufficient to be authorized in any Yandex’ service using this profile," Yandex ID added.
