Metals production down 2.4% in September 2022 — statistics

It is reported that the output of primary aluminum moved upward by 15.4% year-to-date and by 25.9% in this September

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Metals production in Russia contracted by 2.4% year-on-year in September 2022 but gained 0.4% from the year start, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on Wednesday.

Gold production lost 1.3% year-on-year in nine months of this year but moved up by 1.9% annually in September 2022. Production of main precious metals lost 3.1% last month.

Plain steel production contracted by 8.9% year-on-year in January - September 2022 to 42.37 mln tonnes and by 8.6% to 4.43 mln tonnes in September. Alloyed steel output gained 5.1% in January-September 2022 in annual terms to 12 mln tonnes but tumbled 3.7% to 1.2 mln tonnes in last month.

Pig iron output dropped by 2.9% within nine months of this year to 38.82 mln tonnes and by 1.9% annually in September 2022 to 4.2 mln tonnes.

The output of primary aluminum moved upward by 15.4% year-to-date and by 25.9% in this September.
