MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Baltika Breweries, a subsidiary of Denmark-based Carlsberg, will continue its operations despite the owner's plans to sell it, the company’s press service told TASS on Monday.
"Baltika Breweries, which is a subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group in Russia, continues its operational and commercial activities in the current mode for the period of searching for a new owner and until the completion of the deal with it," the press service said.
The company stressed that 8,400 employees in Russia will retain their jobs and all social guarantees. The company intends to transfer the business to a new investor in full compliance with international and Russian legislation. As a result of this decision, business in Russia will no longer be included in the revenue and operating profit of Carlsberg Group in the future, the press service explained.
Earlier, the Carlsberg Group announced suspension of investments and exports to Russia, termination of production, sales and advertising of the Carlsberg brand, as well as a strategic review of the company's presence in Russia. In 2021, the revenue and operating profit of the Group’s business in Russia amounted to $960 million and $100.41 million, respectively.
