The signing ceremony took place via video link with participation of Malaysian health minister

SINGAPORE, January 26. /TASS/. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Malaysia’s Duopharma Sdn Bhd pharmaceutical company have signed an agreement Tuesday to supply Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to Malaysia, the Russian embassy in Kuala Lumpur told TASS.

"This agreement is just the first step in establishing full-fledged bilateral cooperation which does not just include shipments of the Russian vaccine but also creates Malaysia’s own scientific and research base to produce it in the country," Russian Ambassador Nail Latypov commented.

The signing ceremony took place via video link with participation of Malaysian Health Minister Adham Baba.

The RDIF clarified that the contracted doses of Sputnik V for Malaysia would be produced in India, China and South Korea.
