MOSCOW, January 21. /TASS/. Over 10 sites in India, China, Brazil and South Korea produce the Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus for foreign supplies, Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev said in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel on Thursday.
"[For export] we have more than five production sites in India, we have one site <...> in Korea <...>, in China there are also three companies, in Brazil it’s an authorized company," he said.
According to him, Sputnik V will be produced by leading pharmaceutical companies. "Many <...> were competing so that they (companies - TASS) would produce precisely their [vaccines], and not ours but they believed in Sputnik V at the earliest stage and are already beginning to produce our vaccine," the head of the RDIF added.
On August 11, Russia became the first worldwide to register the vaccine against the coronavirus which was named Sputnik V. The preparation was developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Healthcare Ministry. Sputnik V is a human adenovirus-based vector vaccine.
