Number of vacancies in Russian small businesses up by 20% in June

In June small businesses posted 146,500 vacancies, which is 47% higher than the May figure

The number of vacancies in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Russia in June increased by 20% year-on-year, according to the research data released on Wednesday by the online recruiting platform hh.ru on the activity of employers after the end of self-isolation.

"The total number of vacancies from SMEs and entrepreneurs at hh.ru in June was 20% higher than last year," according to the study.

According to analysts, in June small businesses posted 146,500 vacancies, which is 47% higher than the May figure and 9% higher than March. Jobs from medium-sized businesses exceeded 33,300 (+ 46% by May, + 1% by March). Individual entrepreneurs placed over 10,000 vacancies (+ 72% by May, + 16% by March)

It is also noted that the number of employers in this segment has also increased. In small business, their number reached 52,500 (+ 53% by May), an average of almost 5,000 (+ 28% by May).

Among the regions, the leaders in terms of the number of vacancies from small and medium-sized businesses were Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar Region. Analysts note that a steady recovery trend regarding the hiring of personnel in small and medium-sized businesses has been recorded since mid-May, and in June it accelerated and most indicators reached and even exceeded their March values.
