Skolkovo Foundation plans to increase support for Arctic projects

The foundation is not limited in the maximum number of such projects, its Chairman Arkady Dvorkovich said

MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. The Skolkovo Foundation will increase the number of projects it supports, which are aimed at development of the Russian Arctic, the Foundation’s Chairman Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters.

"We are aware of new ambitious tasks [in development of the Arctic zone], and we shall build up a portfolio of projects," he said. "We are not limited in the maximum number of such projects, and the main aspect is how the ministries or the big businesses understand priorities there."

"They will decide which technologies to use and which not, and we shall try to prove that our technologies are good," Dvorkovich continued. "Our task is: all the best there is in Skolkovo should be implemented in the Arctic."

The Skolkovo Foundation is one of the leading development institutions in Russia, which was organized in 2010 for large-scale development of innovative activities in the country. The Foundation’s President is Viktor Vekselberg.

The Skolkovo Foundation’s Press Secretary Alexandra Barshchevskaya told TASS that by early 2019 the number of participants in the Skolkovo Innovation Center was almost 2,000. They employ more than 32,000 people, she added.
