Putin to meet Volkswagen CEO

The Russian president expressed his willingness to discuss issues that Volkswagen is facing to help it successfully grow further in Russia

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting with Volkswagen AG CEO Herbert Diess on Friday, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"During the course of the day, the president has a few internal working meetings planned and he will receive Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess," the Kremlin spokesman said. According to him, "the president customarily holds regular meetings with heads and representatives of large foreign companies, especially a giant like Volkswagen that has been successfully operating on the Russian market for a long time."

As Putin himself pointed out earlier, Volkswagen and Russia share a long history of cooperation, the German company has poured a significant amount of investment into the country.
