Rosatom to hand in first stage of Bolivian nuclear center before end of 2019

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Russia’s nuclear power corporation Rosatom plans to hand in the first stage of the Bolivian nuclear research center before the end of 2019, Rosatom’s press service informed on Wednesday.

"Rosatom will hand in the first stage of objects forming part of the Bolivian Nuclear Research and Technology Center before the end of 2019. Today, design, delivery and construction works of the center are carried within the contractual time frame," the press service informed. "We plan to finish all construction works of the Bolivian Nuclear Research and Technology Center in 2022."

Russia and Bolivia on March 6, 2016 concluded an inter-governmental agreement on cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space and building a nuclear research center in El Alto, at an altitude of 4,100 meters above the sea level. The Bolivian government-funded $300-million project will be implemented jointly with Russia’s nuclear power corporation Rosatom.
