Crimea becomes owner of Massandra Winery

The Crimean Ministry of Agriculture will be in charge of the winery

SIMFEROPOL, March 25. /TASS/. The Massandra Winery was transferred from the federal property to the ownership by the Republic of Crimea, press service of the Crimean Agriculture Ministry said on its Facebook page on Monday.

The order of the Russian Prime Minister on transfer of the Massandra Winery into the state property of Crimea was published in February.

"The statement of transfer of the state unitary enterprise Production and Agricultural Association Massandra from the federal property into the state property of the Republic of Crimea was signed today," the press service said.

The Crimean Ministry of Agriculture will be in charge of the winery, the ministerial press service told TASS.

The Massandra Winery was founded by Prince Lev Golitsyn in 1894 and is one of the largest wineries in Russia. It comprises about 4,000 hectares of vineyards.
