Russia ready to implement Belene NPP construction project — PM Medvedev

Russia is ready to participate if there is an appropriate offer addressed to bidders in this tender, the prime minister said

LUXEMBOURG, March 6. /TASS/. Russia is ready to implement the project of Belene nuclear power plant (NPP) construction in Bulgaria if such an offer is made, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday.

"We do not reject anything. They [Bulgaria - TASS] are going to hold a tender. Equipment has already been procured, although there is a need to consider and to inspect what is available. In general terms, we are ready to participate if there is an appropriate offer addressed to bidders in this tender. We believe we have very good competencies in the nuclear plants construction sphere. We have capabilities to implement it as good as we do so in the whole range of other European countries," Medvedev said.
