MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. The issue of protecting businessmen from unfounded criminal prosecutions will be mentioned in requests following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

"Indeed, President is discontent with the efficiency of his assignments’ performance in this field and has been quite clear when announcing his line this time," he said, adding that the style, nature and wording of Putin’s address were "utterly precise and free of any interpretations or any blurring of ideas and main targets."

According to Peskov, the supervisory role falls within the competence of the Prosecutor-General’s Office, which determines whether any investigative activities are legal or illegal. "The address mainly focused on abandoning that practice (unfounded prosecutions against business - TASS), which is the area where the list of requests will be formed," he noted, adding that the list of President’s requests is being formed now, and that it is expected to take several days.
