Russia, Tajikistan to eye new projects in energy industry

DUSHANBE, February 5. /TASS/. Russia and Tajikistan will study new projects, including in the sphere of energy, at a regular session of the Russian-Tajikistani intergovernmental commission, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after a meeting with Tajikistani President Emomali Rahmon.

"We discussed allied relations of strategic partnership and stated their consecutive development. We noted that the trade-economic and investment cooperation is on the rise, and the trade turnover increased by almost one-third last year. A session of the intergovernmental commission will be held soon, which will study new projects, including in the energy industry. Our Tajikistani friends and Russian economic operators are interested in it," Lavrov said.
