Bridge over Amur between Russia, China to be commissioned in spring 2020, says governor

The construction started at the turn of 2016

MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. The border bridge across the Amur River connecting Russia’s Blagoveshchensk and China’s Heihe will be commissioned in the spring of 2020, Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov told reporters on Friday.

"The plan is to construct the bridge at the end of 2019 and commission it in the spring of 2020," he said, adding that concurrently a temporary cross-border checkpoint will be launched. It will start permanent operations in the summer of 2020.

The construction of the cross-border motor bridge across the Amur River between Russia and China started at the turn of 2016. Its cost is estimated at around 18.8 bln rubles (283.8 mln).
