President Vucic invites Russian tourists to Serbia

Earlier, Serbian Ambassador to Russia Slavenko Terzic said that Serbia could receive 150-200,000 Russian tourists annually

BELGRADE, January 17. /TASS/. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic invited Russian tourists to visit Serbia more frequently. He made this statement before the start of extended consultations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I would like to tell the Russian people that they always have true friends, good friends in Serbia. I would like to use this opportunity and invite Russians to visit Serbia as often as possible. We believe that the number of tourists from Russia can be increased several times," the Serbian leader said.

Earlier, Serbian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Slavenko Terzic said that Serbia could receive 150-200,000 Russian tourists annually, whereas now 60-70,000 Russians come to that country.

Serbia remains a country with one of the highest growth rates in the tourism industry. The number of foreign tourists visiting the country over the past year increased by 20%, reaching 3.1 mln people. The income of Serbia only from foreign tourists in 2017 amounted to 1.2 bln euros.
