Russia’s Aeroflot named world’s fifth most punctual airline in 2018

CEO Vitaly Savelyev stressed that punctuality is one of the carrier’s priorities

MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/. Russia’s largest air carrier Aeroflot became world’s fifth most punctual airline in 2018, according to the UK aviation publication FlightGlobal, the air carrier press service reported.

The company also was named second most punctual airline in Europe in 2018.

In the European segment, the Russian company was behind KLM only, and in the world rating it comes after carriers from Qatar, the US, the Netherlands and Japan.

"Throughout 2018, 82.98% of Aeroflot flights operated according to schedule, one of the best results in the global industry," according to the press release.

"In 2018, Aeroflot took a number of measures to improve punctuality, including strict implementation of boarding regulations and hand-luggage requirements. Plans including innovations based on the latest digital technologies, such as biometric controls, will significantly facilitate and accelerate pre-flight airport procedures for passengers in future," the company said.

Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev stressed that punctuality is one of the carrier’s priorities.

"Our priority is to provide the most comprehensive consideration of passengers’ needs along with attention to detail at all stages of service," he said as quoted by the press release.
