Energy minister says Russia will not be able to quickly reduce oil output

Harsh climatic conditions and a cold winter will not allow Russia to quickly reduce oil production within OPEC+, the minister says

ST. PETERSBURG, December 6. /TASS/. Harsh climatic conditions and a cold winter will not allow Russia to quickly reduce oil production within OPEC+, if the this decision is made in Vienna, Russia's Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Thursday.

"Winter is always a special climatic period for us. We have said it before - it is much more difficult for us to cut than for other countries. These are our geological and climatic conditions, particularities of our oil production," he said.

Novak recalled that earlier for the same reason, Russia gradually reduced its production in the framework of the Vienna Agreement.
