Putin and Maduro may discuss new measures to support Venezuela’s economy

Russian oil major Rosneft is currently implementing five oil projects in Venezuela

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. The issue of providing extra aid to Venezuela can be raised during talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro to be held on December 5, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters on Tuesday.

"Practical aid is provided to the Venezuelan side on a regular basis. The issue [concerning help] will be definitely put forward this time," the official said.

Cooperation in the energy sphere will also be among discussed topics, Ushakov said. Russian oil major Rosneft is currently implementing five oil projects in Venezuela with total production of 9 mln tonnes per year, he noted. Furthermore, Inter RAO completed the contract on supply of thirteen gas turbine units for Venezuelan power plants in November.
