Maduro to discuss joint Russian-Venezuelan projects with Putin

Earlier, Venezuela's leader announced his plans to head for Russia

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro is planning to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin the implementation of joint projects, the South American country’s Embassy in Russia told TASS on Tuesday.

"President Maduro is due to meet with President Putin to discuss bilateral relations and also a range of joint projects," the diplomatic mission said.

On Monday, Maduro tweeted that he was heading to Russia and expected to meet with President Putin to "strengthen and expand diplomatic relations and friendly ties between the brotherly nations."

Earlier, Venezuelan Oil Minister Manuel Quevedo said the state-owned company, PDVSA, planned to fulfill new joint projects with Rosneft, one of major investors in this South American republic. Today the companies are implementing joint oil projects in Venezuela: Petromiranda, Petrovictoria, Petromonagas, Boqueron and Petroperija.

According to Rosneft’s estimates, aggregate oil-in-place exceeds 20.5 billion tonnes. Apart from that, the two companies have a joint oilfield service company, Perforosven.
