MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. Legislative restrictions on the use of embedded digital SIM cards (eSIM) in Russia will be eliminated in the future, but at the moment this issue is not on the list of pressing matters, Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Konstantin Noskov told TASS

"From a technological point of view, we will certainly come to it (lifting legislative ban on eSIM in Russia - TASS. From the point of view of changes in regulations, they are not there yet. Other issues are on the agenda at the moment," the Minister said. He considers this direction important for future work. "We will definitely get there," he added.

The eSIM technology is used in the new Apple smartphones - iPhone XS, XS Max and XR presented in September. Russian operators do not provide support for eSIM at the moment, as Russian legislation imposes a number of restrictions on this matter.
