Russia plans to offer Germany new areas of cooperation

In particular, those are production of rare earth metals, adoption of state-of-the-art technology related to intelligent mineral production and recycling within extracting industries

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Russia intends to suggest that Germany cooperate with it in new areas, particularly in the production of rare earth metals, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Gordeev told a plenary session of the Russian-German raw Material Forum.

"The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about Russia’s plans to offer several new directions of cooperation to its partners. These include production of rare earth metals, adoption of state-of-the-art technology related to intelligent mineral production and recycling within extracting industries, as well as cooperation in the petrochemical complex, energy efficiency and preservation, and the expansion of localized German production enterprises in Russia," the press service of the deputy PM said.

Also, Gordeev held a separate meeting with Germany’s Economy Minister Peter Altmaier, during which they confirmed their willingness to expand cooperation in the field of environmental protection and reducing detrimental effects on the environment. The parties are also keen to increase the efficiency of resource and subsoil use.

"Alexey Gordeev told the German side about the possibility of offering interested individuals a subsoil plot with strategic reserves in Russia upon a preliminary request," according to the press service.
