S7 received recommendations on 737 Max aircraft problems from Boeing-press service

The aircraft manufacturer sent a warning to operators of its new Boeing 737 Max planes following the crash of an aircraft of Indonesia’s Lion Air

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The S7 Group received recommendations from Boeing concerning operation of 737 Max model planes, press service of the Russian air carrier told TASS on Wednesday.

S7 is the only Russian operator of two Boeing 737 Max airplanes. Following the crash of an aircraft of Indonesia’s Lion Air, the aircraft manufacturer sent a warning to operators of its new Boeing 737 Max planes that aircraft can independently make a nose dive due to wrong readings of the flight control system.

"We received recommendations from Boeing, took notice of information and advised specialists working with Boeing 737 Max. No further action of the airline is needed. Boeing notes only that all recommendations are contained in current manuals," S7 said.

On October 29, Lion Air Flight JT610 flew from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang (capital of the province of the Bangka Belitung Islands). The Boeing 737 Max 8 plane crashed into the Java Sea 13 minutes after taking off. All 189 people on board died in the crash.

Boeing 737 Max 8 airplanes have been in service since 2016. This is the first crash of the airliner of that model.
