Russian telecom watchdog to invite Google representatives for talks on November 26

The talks are due to address the compliance with Russian laws

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Russian telecom regulator Roskomnadzor will call representatives of Google for negotiations on compliance with Russian laws on November 26, deputy head of the watchdog Vadim Subbotin told TASS on Friday.

"We have decided today to call representatives of Google Corporation to preparation of a protocol on administrative violation. We will send a notice to the company shortly. We will invite them for November 26," the official said. The meeting is to be held in regulator’s premises, he added.

The regulator said earlier that Google can get a fine of 500-700 thousand rubles ($7,600-10,700) for refusal to connect to the Federal State Information System of Russia with the list of websites blocked in Russia. Google was to be connected to the system for exclusion of blocked websites from search results.
