Venezuela mulls joint projects with Russia, China, Turkey

Venezuela is receiving high-level delegations from Russia, China and Turkey - the countries that are important players on the global arena, says official

MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. The Venezuelan authorities are considering joint projects with Russia, China and Turkey, which will increase the potential for cooperation in the future, Vice-President for Economic Development of the United Socialists Party of Venezuela and ex-Foreign Trade Minister Jesus Faria said in an interview with TASS.

"The new policy [in the economy] has aroused considerable interest among our main allies. The level of external cooperation has increased, political and economic dialogue has intensified. We tried to develop it before, but today we really managed to secure this interaction. New prospects for cooperation with our allies are opening up," the politician noted.

"Now Venezuela is receiving high-level delegations from Russia, China and Turkey - the countries that are important players on the global arena. The delegations arrived to provide advice and discuss joint projects in order to increase their potential interaction in the future," Faria said.

New concept

Faria recalled that Venezuela’s authorities changed the concept of economic policy, since the previous one "did not meet the reality and needs of the people."

"The new policy more adequately meets the existing challenges. I would call the fact that we managed to make this transition our main success," he said.

According to him, "expectations in the economy are of fundamental importance."

"All economic and many political figures in Venezuela share the opinion that the new policy is aimed at solving the main issues of our economy. This allows us as the authorities to work coherently with representatives of all segments of our society," Faria explained.

He noted, the concept made it possible to significantly raise the level of wages.

"This is confirmed by real facts that indicate a real improvement in the living conditions of the working people," he said.
