Russia and China expected to reach $100 bln trade turnover in 2018

The turnover between Russia and China soared 50% in the first half of 2018, Vladimir Putin stressed

SOCHI, August 15. /TASS/. Russia awaits President of China Xi Jinping with a visit in September and his proactive position is aimed at developing Sino-Russian relations according to the outlined plan, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at a meeting with the Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China Yang Jiechi.

"I would like to note at the start of the meeting that our relations are developing just as we planned; everything is according to the plan we have outlined. This is taking place to a considerable degree owing to the proactive position of our good friend - President Xi Jinping," the Russian president said.

Putin conveyed the best wishes to the President of China. "We are waiting for him with the visit in September of this year. It will take place in Vladivostok and we will then participate together in the Vladivostok Eastern Economic Forum," Putin noted.

The turnover between Russia and China soared 50% in the first half of 2018, the Russian President said. "We had the turnover of $87 bln last year and it rose by 50% at once during the first half of this year, and we will most probably reach the trade turnover of $100 bln this year," Putin added.
