Transport Ministry worked out measures in case Ukraine halts rail, bus traffic with Russia

The Russian Ministry of Transport worked out a package of response measures in case Ukraine decides to halt railway and bus service with Russia

MURMANSK, August 14. /TASS/. The Russian Ministry of Transport worked out a package of response measures in case Ukraine decides to halt railway and bus service with Russia, Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh told reporters on Tuesday.

"The Transport Ministry has discussed this matter and our possible response measures in connection with probable making of decisions of this kind," the Minister said.

The Russian side will implement response measures in case Ukraine takes such decisions, he added.

At the same time, actual steps in this regard are not expected, Ditrikh noted. "Such measures will lead to inability for citizens of Russia and Ukraine to use transport services in the first instance. This will result in nothing but inconveniences and discomfort," he added.
