Russian Transport Ministry supports VAT cut for flights

The ministry backs steady reduction of VAT for domestic flights

MOSCOW, July 30. /TASS/. The Russian Ministry of Transport supports VAT reduction on air flights through the Moscow air hub and for bypassing flights, press service of the ministry told TASS on Monday.

"The Ministry continues supporting steady reduction of VAT for domestic flights, including the ones not including the Moscow air hub," the ministry said.

The Finance Ministry suggested earlier to set the rate to zero for regional flights and concurrently increase VAT for flights via Moscow hub airports. The Association of Air Transport Operators said earlier that air tickets price can grow by 8-10% as a result of that.
