Chukotka’s second advance-development territory, Baimskaya, will offer 15,000 jobs

TASS, July 10. Chukotka’s second advance-development territory, Baimskaya, will offer 15,000 jobs. The new territory will favor the region’s second strategic industrial zone - Chaun-Bilibinskaya, the local government’s press service said on Tuesday.

The working Beringovskiy and the developing Baimskaya advance-development territories are instruments to attract investments in Chukotka. The offered benefits attract investors to launch new projects and thus to offer new jobs.

"Baimskaya will offer 15,000 jobs," the press service quoted Deputy Head of the regional Department for Finance, Economy and Property Relations Elena Kompaniets as saying. "The advance-development territory will give an impetus to development of a wide spectrum of small and medium businesses."

At Baimskaya, the anchor projects are those on development of gold deposits Kekura, Klen and the Baimskaya ore zone with the core field Peschanka. Three anchor residents will invest about 340 billion rubles ($5.5 billion). Preliminary estimations forecast the new advance-development territory within first ten years will account for the regional gross product’s increase by more than 3.6 times.

The extraction of minerals is organized in undeveloped areas, thus the businesses will build there camps for workers, new roads and electricity lines.
