Kaspersky Lab appeals US court's dismissal of lawsuits against ban on its products

In line with the US defense budget for 2018 signed by Donald Trump, the use of products by Kaspersky Lab is prohibited for US state agencies

WASHINGTON, June 7. /TASS/. Kaspersky Lab, a producer of antiviruses, has filed an appeal over a ruling by the District of Columbia court to turn down the company’s lawsuits against the US authorities motion to ban the use of Kaspersky antivirus software and services by US government organizations in 2018.

The court issued a report on the appeal.

In line with the US defense budget for 2018 signed by President Donald Trump, the use of products by Kaspersky Lab, a Russian company, is prohibited for US state agencies. An instruction demanding that they should rid themselves of the Kaspersky antivirus defenders appeared in September 2017, with the American regulators saying the software posed a threat to US national security.

The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Washington’s decision against Kaspersky Lab highly politicized. The Russian authorities described it as a manifestation of unscrupulous competition methods.
